Initial Challenge
As part of Roca’s long-term innovation strategy, the company initiated an exploratory project to understand how electricity could enhance everyday bathroom experiences. The challenge was open-ended: to envision meaningful, user-centered ways to integrate electrical components into bathroom products—without compromising safety, usability, or aesthetics.
The Method
The project began with in-depth research into user behaviors and unmet needs in the bathroom. Working in a concept-driven, multidisciplinary team, we generated a wide range of ideas—balancing desirability, technical feasibility, and sustainability. Prototypes were developed for selected concepts, and usability and desirability were tested through storytelling and scenario-based validation.
The Solution
The result was a portfolio of ideas under the theme “Better with Electricity”, showcasing how electric energy could elevate everyday rituals in subtle but impactful ways. The concepts ranged from enhanced comfort features to intuitive user interfaces and hygienic upgrades. Each idea was designed to align with Roca’s product philosophy and future vision. Selected solutions were refined and prepared for integration into product development pipelines.
