2014 / OpenIdeo Barcelona /
Initial Challenge
In 2014, the objective was to establish and nurture the OpenIDEO Barcelona Chapter, aiming to engage the local community in addressing social challenges through design thinking methodologies. The goal was to create a platform for collaborative problem-solving and to contribute solutions that could gain recognition on a global scale.
The Method
As co-organizers, our approach involved:
-
Community Engagement: Organized regular work sessions to introduce and apply design thinking principles, fostering a collaborative environment for creative problem-solving.
-
Challenge Development: Created localized challenges relevant to Barcelona, encouraging participants to tackle issues pertinent to their community.
-
Global Integration: Adapted successful local challenges to align with OpenIDEO’s global initiatives, facilitating broader impact and participation.
-
The Solution
One notable outcome was the development of the “One Day Experience” solution, which:
-
Conceptualization: Designed as an immersive program to address specific social challenges within a single day, promoting rapid ideation and prototyping.
-
Recognition: Selected as one of eight solutions with the potential to be developed further within the IDEO.org incubator, highlighting its innovative approach and impact potential.
-
My Involvement
